Fred has his 18 month check-up this past Friday. He's 34" tall, has a 19" circumference, and weighs 29 pounds 14 ounces. He's off the chart (or greater than 95th percentile) for his height, 90th for his head, and 75th for his weight - perfectly healthy measurements for our guy!
His vocabulary has increased and now includes words or sayings such as... night-night, shoe, go, we-go, more, drink, cup, dance, water, and Oma (german for grandma). He understands a whole lot more than we realize too. :)
Fred started swimming lessons this past week. They aren't going brilliantly but I think that is because his class is from 7 to 730pm each week night. 730pm is his bed-time. So, as you can imagine, it's been a challenge. However, Fred absolutely loves playing in water. So, the community pool, our neighborhood splash park, and our sprinklers in the back yard are all great sources of fun for him.
Fred has also discovered (and so have I) the fun of a show on cable called Backyardigans. It's full of music and imagination. Fred just digs the music and will dance to it on a regular basis. I love to watch him dance - it is just pure happiness.
Steve is definitely Fred's favorite parent, but he definitely loves me too. Steve is Fred's jungle gym and climbing tree. It's very easy and obvious to see the love that little guy has for his father.
I'm so glad that Steve is such an amazing dad to our son. He is patient, firm, loving, and strong for us all - without him I would not be the mommy I am either!
Love,
Heather
